About

Since July 19, 2013 over 3000 people were sent to Manus, PNG and Nauru as part of Australia’s ‘Offshore Processing’ refugee policy. This policy still sees over 200 people held in indefinite limbo in harsh and inhumane conditions in PNG and Nauru, over 8 years later.

‘Gifts for Manus and Nauru’ supports our asylum seeker and refugee friends in PNG and Nauru through the provision of mobile phone credit, with financial assistance to access medical and dental treatment, and through provision of professional trauma counselling through our Therapy4Refugees program.

Gifts for Manus and Nauru also refers people to other organisations and professionals as necessary.

If you would like to contribute financially, please see our ‘how to donate’ page, or if you would like more information please contact us via email, our facebook page or twitter, or by joining our facebook group.

  1. Can I please donate through you to a particular person who has requested credit on nauru? A friend in detention I visit at mita in melbourne has a friend on mauru who needs it…thanks jacquie

  2. How is material aid organised? Is it possible to donate needed items at a collection point rather than money?

    1. Hi Janine, no we are not able to take donations of physical items. At the moment material aid donations can only be accepted as money from you. We then purchase items and mail them to PNG, which has been problematic. Or advocates purchase items in PNG and we reimburse them. At the moment our greatest need is money for phone top-ups. Thanks so much, we could not do it without you.
