Donations made via My Giving Circle also contribute to votes which may see us be awarded a share of cash prizes from the My Giving site which will enable us to do more top ups.

INFORMATION ABOUT RECORD KEEPING FOR TAX PURPOSES
Gifts for Manus and Nauru Incorporated (ABN: 13 886 323 063) is a registered charity with the ACNC and has DGR status (deductable gift recipient).
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductable
For donations made to one of the bank accounts, your deposit slip, internet banking receipt, or bank statement showing the deposit into one of the Gifts for Manus and Nauru bank accounts is sufficient for the ATO for proof of your donation. See ATO website in DGR section here.
If you require a receipt in addition to your deposit receipt, please consider donating via the website, the Chuffed Crowdfund or My Giving Circle instead of into the bank accounts. Receipts are issued automatically at the time of you donation when you donate via these methods.
If you do make a donation via direct deposit to the bank accounts and would like a receipt sent to you, please ensure that you include a name on the deposit and then email us at:

date of deposit
amount of your donation
which account you have deposited into (Phone or Medical) and;
the email address to send the receipt to.
Please note: Receipts are not able to be sent at the time of a direct deposit. Direct deposits are receipted manually in the month following the deposit.

Gifts for Manus and Nauru is a 100% volunteer run organisation.
Prior to December 2018, 100% of donations received were used for providing direct support for the people at Manus and Nauru. All running costs of the organisation were paid for by the management committee members.
Due to increased costs of running the organisation and the inability for the management committee to cover these costs anymore, from December 2018, a small portion of donations has to be used for running costs (insurance, audit, website fees, and licencing and registration fees). This still represents less than approx. 2% of donations being used to run the organisation and allows us to continue to operate.
